Butler Little Theatre play features retirement home hijinks
An upcoming play at the Butler Little Theatre is described as “Golden Girls meets the Odd Couple.”
“Ripcord,” a 2015 comedy by David Lindsay-Abaire, opens at Butler Little Theatre on June 7, and centers around two mismatched roommates who have to share a space in a retirement home and make a bet as to who stays and who leaves.
Butler Little Theatre’s production stars Nedra Casey as Marilyn and Susan Allardice as Abby, who lead the cast of six that includes Emily Sutton, Steve Kalina, Kyrie Lokhaiser and Daniel Scheller.
The play contains moments of surprise described as wacky and substantial, but also moments of heart and hijinks. It also contains adult language and situations.
“Ripcord” will run from June 7 to 15 at BLT at 1 Howard St. Curtain is at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sunday, and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. For tickets, visit butlerlittletheatre.com, or call 724-287-6781.
