Jennings Environmental Education Center is holding several “open days” at the Foltz School, a former one-room schoolhouse located on the edge of the park property. Last year, the schoolhouse was restored to how it was by the time it closed in 1963.

The building will be open on the second Sunday of each month from June to October, as well as July 27 and Dec. 15. The first open day of this year is Sunday, June 9 from noon to 5 p.m.

Volunteers will be on hand to provide insight into the history of the old schoolhouse, which dates back to the late 1800s.

No fee or registration is required to attend.
