SEVEN FIELDS — Craft beer enthusiasts soon will be able to enjoy a cold pint outside after borough council voted unanimously to allow a trendy new brewery to build a 16x16 deck outside its facility on Monday, June 10.

Morgan Molek, general manager for the new Voodoo craft brewery at 530 Northpointe Circle, said the brewery has been doing “really well” since it opened at the beginning of June.

Molek said the new deck likely would be used to accommodate acoustic musical acts and allow the restaurant to add a limited number of outside dining tables.

She also said the deck would be able to draw attention to the new building.

“It will be a good way to let people know we’re here,” she said.

Molek said she did not know when the deck will be built, but expects it to be “pretty soon.”

Also in support of addition to the brewery was resident Russell Zangrilli, of Seven Fields, who urged council members during the comment portion of Monday’s meeting to approve the deck.

“This is not the first restaurant there, this is not the first establishment,” he said. “Make Voodoo happy, that deck needs approved without restrictions.”

Seven Fields will continue its traffic signal maintenance agreement with Cranberry Township after council unanimously approved the $9,000 annual agreement Monday. It will allow Cranberry to continue upkeep on three traffic signals inside the borough.

“This saves us money from outsourcing with a private firm,” borough manager Tom Smith said. “It’s also the same amount as last year.”

The Cranberry Traffic Division is responsible for maintaining and programming the 41 signals along state and Cranberry Township roads within Cranberry as well as responsible for the maintenance of nine additional signals in Adams Township and Seven Fields as well as Marshall Township in Allegheny County.

According to chief of police John Sicilia the police department issued three traffic citations in May — nine fewer than the month before — and 24 warnings — six more than the previous month.
