David Double

Double

David V. Double, 55, of Prospect, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

David was born on Oct. 18, 1968, in Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel W. Jr. and Elsie Double.

Dave graduated from Butler Area High School in 1986. He worked in the construction industry for many years, most recently for Frederick Logan Company installing pumps on gas lines. Dave’s role as a father and grandfather was his greatest joy and blessing. He treasured his children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them.

Dave leaves behind to cherish his memory forever his beloved children, son, Kyle and wife, Randee, of Pittsburgh; daughter, Kayla and husband, Matthew, of Evans City; granddaughters, Katana, Cadence, Debrann and Amber; siblings, Daniel (Dot) Double of Newport, N.C., Belinda Double of Stephens City, Va., Kelly (Chester) Dewitt of Worthington, Pa., and Nathaniel Double of Mars; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dave loved traveling, Harley-Davidsons, cooking, golfing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He was an active member of the VFW, American Legion and the Moose. He enjoyed visiting with friends and playing bingo and tip jars at the local Legion and Moose facilities.

He made friends wherever he went with his caring quiet nature and sense of humor. Dave was often described as a gentle giant or big teddy bear, and affectionately called Taz by his dear friends. Dave was a selfless person who always willingly lent a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone. He embraced everyone with his infectious smile and perhaps shared a cold beer with them.
