Eileen Helen (Stephenson) Pickett passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024.

Born Feb. 14, 1936, to John and Mary (Vogel) Stephenson, Eileen was predeceased by her siblings, Mary, Eddie, Dick, Aggie, Gene and Eleanor.

On Sept. 1, 1956, Eileen wed Bill in Butler. Together they share three children, son, Patrick of Albuquerque, N.M., his wife, Susan, and their two children, William and Rebecca; daughter, Kelly, and her husband, Mike, of Roanoke, Va.; and daughter, Mary and her husband, Stan, and their daughter, Mackenzie, of Chesapeake, Va. Eileen has several nieces and nephews who have been very special to her.

In 1985, Eileen and Bill moved to Bedford, Va., when Bill was hired as executive director of the Elks National Home. Together they cared for and nurtured all the residents who passed through the door during their tenure. Eileen enjoyed her time in Bedford as a member of the Bedford Garden Club and various book clubs.

After they retired and moved to Smith Mountain Lake, Eileen and Bill were active members of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Moneta, Va., where Eileen enjoyed the Wednesday Women’s Group.

The Pickett family extends heartfelt gratitude to Carilion Hospice, the Richfield Living community in Salem, Va., and her special doctor, Dr. Steven Harris, and his wonderful staff.

PICKETT — A private graveside service will be held for family members of Eileen Helen (Stephenson) Pickett, who died Saturday, June 8, 2024.
