One flown to hospital following Center Township crash
One person was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital Thursday, June 13, following a vehicle crash on Pine Drive in Center Township.
A Volkswagen Jetta struck a tree on the short residential road around 2 p.m. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh by a Stat MedEvac helicopter for treatment of injuries, officials said.
Unionville Volunteer Fire Company staged the landing zone at Crossfire Church on Route 8.
State police on scene said the cause of the crash is being investigated.
Pine Drive was closed to traffic as police investigated.
