Shirley A. Wright, 91, of Zelienople, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, while under the care of UPMC Passavant Hospital.

Born in Economy Borough on March 29, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Margaret (Striffler) Watenpool.

Shirley was a member of the Franklin Park Baptist Church and also a member of the church choir. She often enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Cathleen (Mark) Cukovich of Renfrew and David (Linda) Wright of Saxonburg; her six grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert (Bettsy) Watenpool of Ellwood City.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Warren E. Wright, who passed on June 8, 2008; her great-grandson, Christopher Wright; and her stepfather, Byron Blackford.

WRIGHT — Family and friends of Shirley A. Wright, who died Saturday, June 15, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Freda Snyder officiating.

Shirley will be laid to rest at Franklin Baptist Church Cemetery.
