Pettinato, Kamenski academic all-district
Butler graduate Autumn Pettinato, a javelin thrower for Clarion University, and Karns City graduate Anthony Kamenski, a hurdler for Westminster, haves been named Academic All-District in track and field by the College Sports Communicators.
Pettinato carried a 3.64 grade point average as a nursing major. She placed eighth in the javelin with a throw of 39.05 meters — a personal record — at the PSAC Outdoor Championships in May.
Kamenski carried a 3.59 grade point average in earning a bachelor’s degree in history. Kamenski was recently named All Mid-Atlantic Region after finishing with the fifth-fastest time in the region in the 400-meter hurdles. He won the event at the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championships.
GCC athletes earn PAC academic honors
GROVE CITY — Grove City College had a school-record 105 student-athletes earn berths on the Presidents’ Athletic Conference’s spring academic honor roll.
Six Butler County athletes are among them: Seneca Valley graduates Grace Graner (exercise science) in track and field, Todd Hangliter (entrepreneurship) in men’s golf, Elyse Kiggins (elementary/special education) in women’s lacrosse, Mars graduate Alexa McDole (exercise science) in women’s basketball, Portersville Christian graduate Emma Plank (exercise science) in women’s swimming and Eden Christian graduate (Seven Fields resident) Luke Vittone (business/economics) in baseball.
