Gary Charles Rettig, 74, of Prospect, peacefully passed away at his residence on Friday morning, June 21, 2024.

Born Jan. 19, 1950, in Grove City, he was the son of the late Ralph and Virginia Sweeney Rettig.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, who proudly served from August 1969 to August 1971.

From 1972 to 1982, he worked at Pullman until it closed. He then was self-employed and worked 25 years as an auto mechanic. His most recent job was working at Giant Eagle in Moraine Point Plaza, where he enjoyed not only working but talking with his friends and customers.

He is survived by his children, Tammy (Chris) Bonomo of Connoquenessing, Gary (Tina) Rettig Jr. of Connoquenessing, Brandon (Shawna) Rettig of New York and Nathan Rettig of Prospect; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Marlene (Dick) Herold of Prospect; his sister-in-law, Carol Rettig of Fenelton; and his former wives, Mary Lou Walker, Marie Besong and Tracie Belong.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Rettig; and his twin brother, Larry Rettig.

RETTIG — Cremation services for Gary Charles Rettig, who died Friday, June 21, 2024, were entrusted to RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.
