Charlotte Lutz

Lutz

Beloved wife and mother Charlotte Lorraine Lutz, of Butler, passed away peacefully and went to our Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family.

Charlotte was born Nov. 14, 1935, on the Fox estate in Clarion County. She was the daughter to Marion (Best) Neely and Roy Lyle Neely.

She attended St. Petersburg High School, where she graduated in 1953, and enrolled in the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned a degree in nursing in 1956. She made many lifelong friends during her nursing school years and remained close to them until her passing.

She met and wed Robert R. Lutz, the love of her life. They settled in Butler, where they raised their six children. She was a warm and selfless mother who gave of herself without limit to provide an idyllic childhood for her children.

She worked part-time as a registered nurse for Butler Memorial Hospital while raising her family, and retired in 2000.

Charlotte was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, where she volunteered preparing and serving the parish community and funeral dinners.

She also had volunteered in the past with her husband at the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was a board member of the Butler County Area Agency on Aging, where she advocated for the needs of senior citizens. She was a generous and selfless person who always helped those in need, whether they were family, friends, neighbors or strangers.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert R. Lutz; her six children and their spouses, Douglas Scott Lutz of Butler, Jacquelyn (Lutz) and husband, Gerald Mineweaser, of Pittsburgh, Timothy Lutz and wife, Kelly, of Baltimore, Md., Daniel Lutz and wife, Paula, of Franklin Park, Pa., Jeffery Lutz and wife, Michelle, of Butler; and Roger Lutz and wife, Amy, of Butler.

She was a proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and happiness. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Charlotte was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a great-granddaughter who will receive the name Charlotte Sophia in her honor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Muriel Fisher and her husband, Arthur; a brother, Lyle Neely and his wife, Billie Rae; and a nephew, Ronald Neely.

Charlotte will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her warmth, wit and generosity.
