Sally McJunkin

McJunkin

Sally Suzanne McJunkin, 85, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. She was born March 11, 1939, in New Kensington, Pa., and was the daughter to the late George and Nathel Walker.

Sally was a 1957 graduate of Ken Hi, New Kensington, and attended the then-Robert Morris School of Business. She lived and raised her family in New Kensington before relocating with her husband to Chicora in 1983. Although a ‘city’ girl, she grew to love her new community and friends in Chicora.

Sally was first a member of the First United Methodist Church of New Kensington and then of Chicora. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Lower Burrell and then in Butler. She worked in numerous jobs over the years, but her true love was making a home and raising her family.

Sally enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards, music and traveling, and she was always up for an adventure. Her most cherished times were summer vacations in Canada and celebrating occasions large and small with her beloved and large extended family. Her love for life was plain to see, and her smile could light up a room.

Most who met her always commented on how sweet she was, but she was also funny and brave and tougher than she looked. She leaves a hole in our hearts and will be deeply missed by so many.

She will be missed the most by her husband of 65 years, Roger; her daughters, Mary Beth and Kelly (Dan); her granddaughter, Delaney (Zach); her great-granddaughter, Claire; and her bonus grandchildren, Jolynn and Zac.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Johnny.
