William West

West

William “Bill” F. West, 88, of West Salem, Pa., passed away after a brief illness at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at St. Paul's Senior Living Community in Greenville, Pa.

Bill was born in Boyers on May 24, 1936, to James and Hazel (Koschik) West.

He graduated from Grove City High School in 1954 and then worked at the Social Security office for 30 years in Oil City and New Castle. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and enjoyed making soup with the ladies of St. Paul's, bowling and cooking.

Bill was a former member of the Greenville Lions Club and served on the board of the Good Shepherd.

He is survived by his wife at home, the former Delores Albert. They were married on July 6, 1957. Also surviving are two sons, Robert (and his wife, Angela) West of Grove City and Daniel West of Grove City; daughter, Cynthia (and her husband, Doug) Nene of New Castle; sister-in-law, Joyce West of Hobe Sound, Fla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James Jr., Bernard and Richard West; and a daughter-in-law, Joan West.

WEST — Visitation for William “Bill” F. West, who died Wednesday, June 19, 2024, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at OSBORNE-WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 73-75 Columbia Ave., Greenville, Pa.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Glen Sadler officiating.
