Fall-prevention event coming to Saxonburg
All are invited to Preventing Falls for Older Adults, a free seminar at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at the South Butler Community Library, 240 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
The presentation will be led by Jennifer Anderson, physical therapist and director of outpatient therapy at Concordia Lutheran Services in Cabot.
Falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries in older adults, with more than one in four Americans age 65 and older suffering falls each year, according to a news release from the library.
Anderson will offer free fall assessments at the event as well.
Registration is preferred, but not required, by calling 724-352-4810.
The library is handicap accessible.
