Terumi “Terry” Morishita Ackerman, 89, of Grove City, formerly of Zelienople, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2024, at her residence.

Born in Yokosuka, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Kazumi and Nami Hinohara Morishita.

She was a member of the Methodist faith.

She retired from Bellevue Suburban General Hospital in 2001 as a nursing assistant.

Terry enjoyed sewing. She was a member of Sakura Kai Woman’s Japanese Club.

She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Colleen Haser of Grove City; one brother, Michiyoshi Morishita of Japan; two grandchildren, Cory Haser and Carlee Haser and their father, Harry; best friends, Janet and Jack Alker of Wexford; an adopted daughter, Judy and Bill McClain; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kiyoshi Morishita.

ACKERMAN — Friends and relatives of Terumi “Terry” Morishita Ackerman, who died Tuesday, June 25, 2024, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
