Rauso

Joan F. Rauso, 89, of Cranberry Township, passed into eternity on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

Born on July 5, 1934, in Monessen, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Mertel) Samonsky; and sister of the late Elaine Rawson. She was a devoted wife to Peter A. Rauso for 57 years, who passed in 2011.

Joan, formerly of Penn Hills, was residing at Sherwood Oaks in Cranberry Township for the past five years. She treasured the nurses, aides and staff who cared for her with endless love and compassion. She enjoyed her word search puzzles, Reader’s Digest, sweet treats and multiple recreational activities. Joan developed many friendships with her kind heart, uplifting spirit, infectious smile and quick-witted humor. She will be dearly missed by all.

Joan’s life was centered around her three children, Richard, Paula and Andrea, whom she adored. They will hold her memories within their hearts. Her love will guide them through each passing day.

She cherished, and was so proud of, her four grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Kyler and Kiara. Her love for them will last a lifetime.

Joan’s precious granddog, Lexi, who brought her so much joy and companionship, will miss Nana’s treats and gentle touch.

Joan leaves behind her best friend of 85 years, Joanne Markham, of Lakewood, Calif.

RAUSO — A memorial Mass for Joan F. Rauso, who died Tuesday, June 25, 2024, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s honor to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, Attn. Donations, 6926 Hamilton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15208.

Arrangements have been entrusted to BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.
