Zelienople Rotary honorees to be recognized at Fourth of July parade
Mike Schoeffel and Marietta Reeb will be honored by the Rotary Club of Zelienople for their service to the community during the club’s annual Fourth of July parade next week.
Schoeffel will be recognized as the parade’s grand marshal. He is known as a leader of the American Legion Riders, Zelienople Post 474, organizing motorcycle escorts for local servicemen. A part-time professor of history and Army veteran, he also volunteers with Honor Flight Pittsburgh and coaches youth sports. He serves as a member of the Evans City Fire Department. He will retire from the United States Postal Service in August.
Reeb is the recipient of the Tullio A. “Doc” Viola Service Above Self Non-Rotarian Award. For over 40 years, she has volunteered with the Zelienople Historical Society. She is also a member of the Park Presbyterian Church Choir, Hand Bell Choir and the Western Butler County Sewer Authority. Reed recently retired after serving 20 years on the Zelienople borough council.
The annual Fourth of July parade begins at 11 a.m.
