Moniteau holds combined reunion for all 60s classes
All 10 graduating classes of Moniteau High School from the decade of the 1960s held a combined reunion at the school’s cafeteria on Saturday night, June 29.
Among the classes honored was the very first graduating class of the brand-new Moniteau High School in 1960 after it opened for the 1959-60 season.
According to 1966 graduate Donna Depew, about 117 Moniteau graduates showed up at this year’s reunion, which is held every two years for Warrior graduates of the 1960s.
During the reunion, the graduates made sure to honor those among them who had served in the armed forces, most of whom served in the Vietnam War. One of those graduates, 1965 graduate Luciano Plesakov, was killed in action in South Vietnam in May 1967.
Last September, Moniteau High School named their football stadium in Plesakov’s honor.
