Cranberry Township’s shelter-in-place order canceled
Police announced that Cranberry Township’s shelter-in-place order has been lifted as of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2.
The announcement followed a warning issued around 1 p.m. for those in Cranberry Township to shelter in place as township police sought a suspicious person.
“As of 3:30 p.m. July 2, there is no longer an active threat and the shelter-in-place is canceled,” the police department said in a post on Facebook. “Law enforcement officials will release additional information later this evening. Thank you for your vigilance and support during this matter.”
According to an earlier Facebook post, the police department was searching for “a suspicious person wearing a Washington football shirt and/or hat.” The post, made at about 1 p.m., indicated the police department currently had a presence in the area of Glen Eden, Freshcorn, Powell and Unionville roads.
