Alter Eagle interview with certified peer specialist
“Alter Eagle,” an original Butler Eagle podcast, will feature Betsy Laporte from the Grapevine Center, who has been sober since 2010, in a new episode dropping Monday, July 8.
Oxytocin was her substance of choice, and since her sobriety, she has become a certified peer specialist. She is now in her ninth year at Grapevine.
Laporte is the bridge to mental health services, sharing her own life experience with a goal is to make people feel seen, heard and supported. She also brings value to the female homeless population by filling a closet each year with clothes, shoes, sanitary items and other items.
She is also a single mother who dedicates herself to her daughters.
