Kelly co-sponsors bills on campus unrest

U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th, has co-sponsored two pieces of legislation — the Uproot Rioting International Students Engaged in Radical Subversion Act, which would deport people on visas who engage in violent activities, and the Freeze Aid for Student Assaulters Act, which would strip federal student aid from those who are convicted of assaulting police or participating in riots.

The UPRISERS Act would revoke visas of international students, faculty members and other visa holders who assault law enforcement officers or engage in rioting. The FAFSA Act aims to reinforce that effort by removing federal student aid benefits from individuals convicted of assaulting police officers or rioting.
