Agapito Conti

CONTI

Agapito “Cubby” Conti, 92, of Boyers, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024, while under hospice care at AHN Grove City following a prolonged illness.

Cubby was born March 27, 1932, in Villa Sant’Angelo (Tussillo), Italy. He was the son of Cesare and Maria Liberata Carusi Conti. His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Cubby retired from U.S. Steel after over 30 years of service in Boyers, Ellwood City and Youngstown. He was a lifelong member of Epiphany Catholic Church (St. Alphonsus Parish). His favorite hobby and a source of great pride was gardening. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors immensely and was part of the greatest bocce team ever assembled in northern Butler County, Go-Go Internationale.

Cubby’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He was married to the love of his life, Maria Luisa DeMichele, on Sept. 10, 1967, until her passing in November 2011. He is survived by his only child, Emidio “Mimmo” Conti; his beloved and cherished grandson, Mario D. Conti; and the most precious blessing of his great-granddaughter, Callie Grace Conti. He and his wife gave of themselves selflessly for the surviving members of the family, who are eternally grateful for their love and sacrifices. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews in both Italy and the United States.

CONTI — The family of Agapito “Cubby” Conti, who died Thursday, July 4, 2024, will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
