There’s time to check that box — Do it!
In the recent Eagle article from June 23 about Jack Muller, the former NFL lineman who just finished his degree, I say congratulations! A statement that Jack made — “It was one of the boxes that was never checked” — resounded loud and clear with me.
Having given up on my education to raise my children and then get them through college, that was a statement I made so very often. I always detested that I could never “check that box,” that my education remained unfinished. Finally, the light dawned and I realized it was “me time!” It was so fulfilling when I finally completed my education at age 68 and obtained my bachelor's degree!
My greatest honor, however, was when both my children said they were very proud of me. So to all you middle age or senior citizens who want to check that box, go for it! You'll be glad you did.
