Consumers encouraged to conserve energy
Central Electric Cooperative is encouraging residents to conserve energy Monday, July 8 during peak hours of electricity demand to help stabilize future power costs.
The electricity supplier expects a high energy demand from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.
To “beat the peak,” residents can conserve power by turning off non-essential electric items, raising the thermostat a few degrees and shifting the the use of items such as dehumidifiers, pool pumps and electric appliances to hours outside of the peak period.
