Motorists on Route 228 can expect some traffic disruptions in mid-July as PennDOT and its contractors approach the final phase of the Balls Bend Safety Improvement Project, which began in February 2021.

From Friday, July 15, through Sunday, July 21, there will be a single-lane closure from Route 8 to Davis Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and 6 p.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. This will allow for paving to take place.

Motorists should be aware of flaggers and changing traffic patterns throughout the duration. In the event of inclement weather, the dates will be moved back by one week.
