Tuesday anticipated to be the hottest day of the week
The heat index for Western Pennsylvania will reach 100 degrees in some areas Tuesday, July 9, with Butler County reaching 95 degrees at the hottest point of the day.
The National Weather Service Pittsburgh said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that Butler County is under a hazardous weather outlook Tuesday, while counties south of Butler, including Allegheny, Beaver and Westmoreland counties, are under a heat advisory.
Wednesday is also expected to have a high heat index, with temperatures again predicted to reach into the high 80s in Butler County, according to National Weather Service Pittsburgh.
