The General State Authority was planning six building projects for Butler County in July 1970, including a new western area warehouse for state police and a student center at Slippery Rock State College.

James D. Logan, executive director of the General State Authority, visited Butler County on July 8, 1970, where he reviewed the 21 projects in the county pending through the authority.

Eighteen of those projects were planned for Slippery Rock college’s campus, totaling more than $25 million in construction costs. Many projects were still in the design stages, but preplanning had been completed for six area projects.
