Thomas James Clark, 32, of Butler, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh for violating federal firearms laws, according to an announcement Tuesday.

Eric G. Olshan, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, said Clark had previous felony convictions when he was found in possession of a gun and ammunition Jan. 20, and federal law prohibits people with people with felony convictions from possessing a firearm or ammunition.

Clark faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in the case.
