Donald Shirey

Dr. Donald Shirey, of Buffalo Township, will celebrate his 90th birthday at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at an open house with family and friends at Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Sarver.

He was born on July 11, 1934, in Big Run, Pa.

His wife is the former Virginia Ann Roenigk, whom he married on July 21, 1962, at Buffalo Presbyterian Church.

Shirey has three children, Gina Shirey of Juneau, Alaska, Jonathan Shirey of Loveland, Ohio, and JoAnna Kozlina of Mars.

He also has 10 grandchildren.

He is a retired associate professor of information science at the University of Pittsburgh.

He is a former treasurer and deliverer for Freeport Meals on Wheels.
