Butler County, CCR offering mental health services in wake of Trump rally shooting

Following the shooting during the rally of former President Donald Trump on Saturday, Butler County and the Center for Community Resources are reminding residents that mental health resources are available to residents who need them.

By calling CCR at 724-431-3748, residents can be provided with information on available mental health services and be directed to a local provider.

“We have several providers in the community that will be offering services,” said Brandon Savochka, director of human services for Butler County. “So if people need them, they just need to reach out to the Center for Community Resources, and they will be guided to the appropriate resource.”

Savochka said these services are available on a regular basis, but the county and CCR are taking steps to remind residents of their existence after Saturday’s tragedy.

“Everybody’s experience is going to be different,” Savochka said. “It’s almost impossible to tell what people need to talk about. If people need help, we’re just asking them to reach out.”

For more pressing mental health needs, the crisis services number is 988.
