Robert E. Miller, 75, of Parker, Pa., passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, after a period of declining health at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Butler.

Born in Cuba, N.Y., on Nov. 2, 1948, he was the son of his late father, Fred Miller, and mother, Margaret Smith.

Bob enjoyed camping, country music and being outside, especially coon hunting. In his younger years, he was an enthusiastic wrestler in the Pittsburgh area, competing as part of the tag team trio known as “The Mongols.” He even participated in a match that involved wrestling a bear for entertainment. Bob worked as a greeter at Kozy Rest Campground for 19 years, and in 2009, he was honored as the Pennsylvania Tourism Employee of the Year.

Surviving are his wife, Nora Jean Miller, whom he married on Aug. 10, 1991; two children, Nathan (Kerry) Miller of Portersville and Doug (Patty) Miller of Grove City; three stepchildren, Tina (Thomas) Brown of Mount Pleasant, Tenn., Timothy Conner and companion, Vivian, of Petrolia and Travis (Cindy) Conner of Bruin; three sisters, Katherine (Rex) Wood of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Marcie (Steve) Prewitt of Cave City, Ark., and Pat Smith of Evening Shade, Ark.; one brother, Fred Miller of North Huntington, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Robert Miller Jr. and Tammy Rottman; and two sisters, Karen Thompson and Margaret Harlow.

MILLER — Friends of Robert E. Miller, who died Saturday, July 13, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Conneration.
