Stan Steiner

Steiner

Stan S. “Stan the Man,” “Stush,” Steiner, 82, of Butler, passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Kathy, and his wonder dog, Abbie, by his side on Friday, July 12, 2024.

Born May 20, 1942, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Steve Steiner and the late Anne (Kinkela) Steiner.

Stan was a 1960 graduate of Moniteau High School and went on to have a long career at American Hardware/ServiStar, where he made many lifelong friends. He also successfully ran Steiner’s Gardens Nursery, which was his true passion. Stan loved the farm, the plants, the trees and anything that dealt with nature. He also had a tremendous affinity for his beloved border collies, Kenzie and now Abbie. Many memories were made with grandsons and the pumpkin patches, Christmas trees and specimen trees, shrubs and evergreens. And if someone’s child needed help with their leaf collections, he was always the go-to guy!

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathy Gregory Steiner; and his loving dog, Abbie K.; his children, Chris (Elysse) Steiner of Los Angeles, Calif., Steve (Tara) Steiner of Greensburg, John L. Gregory (Angel Powers) of Butler and Jessica L. Gregory (Mark Silva) of Richmond, Va.; his granddaughter, Stephanie Steiner; his grandsons, Colton Gregory, Lukas Steiner and Nickolas Gregory Silva; his brother, John Steiner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
