Violent rhetoric from GOP unacceptable

The July 13th attack on former President Donald Trump and the death of one rally spectator and injuries to others were horrific, deplorable and unforgivable acts. Yet they were foreseeable.

At every opportunity Donald Trump sows fear and hatred, stokes retribution, bullying and violence, and praises the world’s most notorious dictators.

He does this openly at his rallies, on courthouse steps, in tweets and in interviews. He did it from the Oval Office when he was president, which almost got his vice president killed.

Many Republicans complain about how violence in movies, songs and video games corrupt our youth. Well, don’t be hypocrites. Condemn it when that bile is being spewed by your own party leaders.

Failure to call out lies and violent rhetoric is a slap in the face to July 13th’s dead and injured.
