Butler library to host event on Clarion River history

Butler Area Public Library will host History of the Clarion River at 6 p.m. July 31.

Dale Luthringer, Cook Forest State Park environmental education specialist, will share the fascinating events that transpired along the waterway, which is a 110-mile tributary of the Allegheny River.

Luthringer will discuss the river’s connection to the Seneca Nation of the Iroquois Confederacy, the arrival of Europeans in the Cook Forest area, and other interesting information.

No registration is required to attend.
