Bruin Community Day & Church set for Aug. 24, 25

The annual Bruin Community Day and Church is scheduled for Aug. 24 and 25 at Bruin Municipal Park, beginning at 11 a.m. both days.

Aug. 24 will feature a car show, a visit by the sheriff department’s canine unit, duck races, a basket raffle, music, food and craft vendors, children’s activities and evangelical outreach by Steve Tini of Child Evangelical Fellowship. Lemonade sales will benefit Isaiah 117 House. A pie-in-the-face game will benefit local veterans. Stacie Williams of Bruin will give a historical discussion about former Bruin resident Ben Hogan.

On Aug. 25, “Church in the Park” begins at 11 a.m. with Barry and Debbie Wiles providing testimony in word and song. Visitors can bring entrees or desserts for a potluck lunch following the service. Square and line dancing demonstrations will be held. Colin Gaiser and Uptown Classic Hits will perform a concert at 4 p.m.
