PARIS — When Snoop Dogg agreed to become an Olympic torch bearer, the hip-hop star recalled an emotional, iconic moment watching Muhammad Ali light the cauldron at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

Now, Snoop Dogg hopes to recreate some of that magic for a global audience watching the Paris Olympics. He’ll be one of the final torch bearers of the Olympic flame ahead of the Games’ opening ceremony on Friday.

It's an opportunity he never imagined.

“It was emotional for all of us to see the champ holding that torch and walking up there,” Snoop Dogg said Wednesday of the late Ali, who surprised the crowd when he lit the cauldron because he had Parkinson's disease.

Snoop Dogg will carry the torch in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis, according to the town's mayor, Mathieu Hanotin.

“This is my own version of it,” Snoop Dogg said. “I don’t want to get too emotional, but I know that this is special.”

Snoop Dogg said he's thankful for being a representative from the U.S. and France’s support in him taking part. He spoke during a call with sportscaster Mike Tirico and Molly Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympics Production.

“This says a lot about America as far as where we’re at in this world,” he said. “At the same time, it says a lot about France as far as connecting the dots and allowing me to do this. I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this. I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is.”

Along with his torch-bearing duties, Snoop Dogg will serve as a prime-time NBC correspondent during the Games. He'll be on the ground exploring the city’s landmarks and attending competitions and events.

The ultra-smooth entertainer already has had casual on-video interviews with a few Olympians about their sports, including women’s basketball player A’ja Wilson, gymnast Sunisa Lee, skateboarder Jagger Eaton and beach volleyball players Sara Hughes and Kelly Cheng. Last month, he met with track star Noah Lyles and participated in a 200-meter race — clocking in at 34.44 seconds — with NBC analyst Ato Boldon and former national champion Wallace Spearmon.

Snoop Dogg arrived in Paris about 10 days before the opening ceremony, meeting with athletes and their family members along with learning their back stories. He has gone to the practice facilities to visit various teams such as judo, weightlifting, 3x3 basketball and fencing.

“I’m going to show you why they made me the man to do it,” he said. “I’m going to put all of my resources and energy around it with peace, love and harmony. That’s what the Olympics is all about. I feel like that’s why they chose me. That’s what I represent.”

NEW YORK — And just like that … Kim Cattrall has no plans to return to the new season of the “Sex and the City” sequel.

The Golden Globe Award-winning actress, who was the standout on the original HBO comedy series and its two movies, is shooting down speculation that she will appear in the third season of “And Just Like That…,” which is currently filming in New York City.

Because of a longtime rift with co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, Cattrall previously claimed that she had no interest in reviving her saucy Samantha Jones role for any spinoffs.

And then, by what seemed like an act of Congress, she signed on for a cameo on the second season finale, though she didn’t share any scenes with her former co-stars.

The appearance offered hope to longtime fans of the series — so much that rumors of a recurrence began to swirl.

Nope. Not according to Cattrall.

The 67-year-old actress took to social media to respond to a tweet with a reshared Elle article that read, “It Looks Like #KimCattrall (aka Samantha Jones) Will Be Back For ‘And Just Like That…’ Season 3 After All!”

“Aw that’s so kind,” Cattrall shot back on X. “But I’m not.”

“And Just Like That,” which follows the original “Sex and the City” characters navigating life and love in New York in middle age, has been able to succeed, sometimes awkwardly, without Cattrall’s involvement.

The “Mannequin” star told media outlets that she would “never” want to work on the franchise again because she “wants to work with good people.”

But after the abrupt cancellations of recent gigs — Fox’s “Filthy Rich,” Peacock’s ’ “Queer as Folk” reboot, and later“Glamorous” on Netflix — she somehow had a change of heart; hence her brief Season 2 appearance.

But maybe she really means it this time.

NEW YORK — Ryan Reynolds has finally revealed the name of his and Blake Lively’s fourth child while thanking his family at Monday’s world premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine” in New York City.

Footage making the rounds from the Lincoln Center event shows the 47-year-old “If” star giving his family a touching shoutout, nearly a year and a half after he and the “Gossip Girl” star, 36, welcomed their latest addition.

“I just want to say that there are so many people who have loved this film into this exact moment and I am so eternally grateful to those people, many of whom are in this room or standing here on the stage, one of whom is not. So I just want to start by saying thank you to my wife, Blake, who’s here,” said Reynolds in an introduction to the film, which also stars Hugh Jackman.

“I want to thank my kids — James, Inez, Betty, Olin — who are here. I hope, you know, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing, considering the contents of this movie, that happens in your wondrous life. I love that my entire family is here.”

The couple, who met on the set of 2011’s widely panned “Green Lantern” and wed two years later, have yet to publicly share the sex of their fourth child.

To date, little Olin is the only member of the Reynolds-Lively clan who has yet to inspire a Taylor Swift song. The Grammy winner, 34, who is a close friend of the actors, notably nodded to their three elder daughters — James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4 — in the track, “Betty,” off 2020’s “Folklore.”

Reynolds on Monday suggested to E! News that he and Lively’s brood could always use more members.

“The more the merrier,” he joked to the outlet. “As many as possible. As many little heartbeats as possible, just running around, wrecking stuff in the house. I love it. Let’s have more!”

During the preshow remarks Reynolds also paid tribute to late Marvel art director and production designer Ray Chan, who died on the last day of filming. He was 56.

“If we were lucky enough … he’d be standing up here today with us. He’s an artist, he’s an incredible person. His legacy lives on and is on the screen up here,” said Reynolds. “This movie is genuinely and wholeheartedly for Ray.”
