Seneca Valley Sophomore wins national contest
JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley Intermediate High School sophomore Leila Wright was named a first-place awardee of America’s Field Trip, a nationwide scholastic contest where students reflect on what America means to them.
150 student awardees, including Wright, were selected by a panel of current and former educators. Awardees will take part in field trip experiences this summer at historical and cultural sites in the United States, and second-place awardees will be given $500 cash awards.
America250 announced the America’s Field Trip awardees in cooperation with global financial services company BNY. The contest will continue in 2025 and 2026. Next year’s contest launches in September.
America250 is responsible for planning the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
