Marion Sukanovich

Marion L. (Kenyon) Sukanovich, 79, of Ligonier, Pa., died Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Life’s Promise Personal Care Home.

She was born Feb. 21, 1945, in Pittsburgh and was the oldest of 11 siblings. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Westminster College and did post-graduate work at Slippery Rock University and Syracuse University in New York. She was certified and taught in three states, Pennsylvania, New York and Maine, for 40 years. Because of her degree in music, she sang, directed choirs and played the organ in those states. She also served as the organist/choir director at St. Michael’s of the Valley Episcopal Church in Rector, Pa.

Marion is survived by her two daughters, Wendee Sukanovich (Mark Morgan) and Kristee (Gordie) Morgan; two granddaughters, Samantha and Alexandria Morgan; sisters, Virginia (David) Hahn, Gwendolyn Kenyon and Mary Kenyon; brothers, Arthur L. Kenyon, Henry (Martha) Kenyon, David (Sheila) Kenyon, John (Isie) Kenyon, William (Lynn) Kenyon and Keith Kenyon; and sister-in-law; Ginny Kenyon.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Charles Sukanovich; her parents, the Rev. Walter R. and Mary L. Kenyon; and her brother, Dr. Walter Wynn Kenyon.

SUKANOVICH — Family of Marion L. (Kenyon) Sukanovich, who died Saturday, July 27, 2024, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at MCCABE FUNERAL HOME, 144 E. Main St., Ligonier. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 240 W. Main St., Ligonier. Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Cheswick, Pa.
