Swim team has winning 1970 season
The Penn Valley Swim Team completed its 1970 season with a record of seven wins and two losses, and would go on to compete in the Allegheny-Kiski League championship meet the coming week. Butler Eagle file photo
The Penn Valley swim team defeated Saxonburg in its last meet of the season with a score of 135-42 on Aug. 3, 1970, finishing the year with a record of seven wins and two losses.
The youths won all 18 events at the meet against Saxonburg, in an Allegheny-Kiski League encounter.
Following the winning season, the Penn Valley swim team would go on to compete at the Allegheny-Kiski League championship meet in Springsdale.
