Cranberry Township resident honored in university ceremony

CRANBERRY TWP — Diana P. Lozinger was one of 70 University of Scranton graduates who took place in the university’s Donning of the Stole ceremony.

The ceremony honors and celebrates the accomplishments of its graduates from underrepresented identities who received their undergraduate degrees, according to an official news release from the University of Scranton.

The Donning of the Stole ceremony is a student-led initiative with the purpose of highlighting the students’ successes in overcoming obstacles faced by students from these groups, particularly students of color, in attaining a higher education, the news release said.

Lozinger was among the highly successful members of the University’s graduating class who partook in the ceremony.

Lozinger earned a Bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, as a triple major in Counseling and Human Services; Philosophy and Theology; and Religious Studies, with concentrations in women’s/gender studies and Catholic studies. Lozinger also participated in the University’s Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program and its accelerated Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

She was the recipient of the University’s four-year full-tuition Presidential Scholarship and was a member of the national Jesuit honors society and the international philosophy, social science, theology and religious studies, and human services honors societies.
