Gary Double Sr.
Gary L. Double Sr., 78, of Butler, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1945, to the late Richard Double and Norma (Patterson) Double.
Gary graduated from Slippery Rock High School, and after graduation he joined the Army. Gary worked at Lava Crucible Mill in Zelienople and Armco. He was a member of American Legion Post 778, Slovak Club and East Butler Club and was a lifetime member of Hilltop Beagle Club. Gary enjoyed hunting, and above all, he loved watching his grandkids play baseball and spending time with family.
Gary is survived by one son, Gary L. (Diane) Double Jr. of Butler; one daughter, Dawn (James) Chivers of Massachusetts; four grandchildren; two brothers: Richard and Ron Double of Butler; and one sister, Sandie Grame of Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda I. (Rivers) Double; his late companion, Norma Kamerer; and one brother, Randy Double.
DOUBLE — Per his wishes, all services for Gary L. Double Sr., who died Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, will be private.
