Inspired Hearts & Hands is expanding its annual summer fest this year to give away free fans to help area residents beat the heat.

The in-person event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at Broad Street Elementary School, 200 Broad St. The event features food, games and activities, and a back-to-school shopping experience. Vistra, a power generation company, donated $5,000 to help Inspired Hearts & Hands purchase more than 200 box fans that will be distributed at the event.

Inspired Hearts & Hands hosts in-person resource days as well as resource deliveries to school districts and subsidized communities throughout Butler, Beaver, Allegheny and Armstrong counties.
