Valerian Dec, 48, of Butler, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following an incident Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Butler Township police said Dec caused a disturbance at the hospital, assaulted one employee and attempted to assault other employees at 3:23 p.m. He was arraigned and placed in the county jail in lieu of $7,500 bond. His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 15 before District Judge Kevin O’Donnell.
