Man sentenced to probation for touching teen girl

A Butler man was sentenced to probation and ordered to report to state police for 15 years after he pleaded guilty to an indecent assault charge and was found to be a sexual offender under Megan’s Law.

Caydon Claypoole, 21, pleaded guilty Thursday in Common Pleas Court to the misdemeanor charge filed by Butler Township police after a 14-year-old girl reported in July 2022 that he inappropriately touched her over a period of seven months.

The victim told police Claypoole would pin her down and touch her body.

Police filed charges in October 2023 following an interview with the girl at the Child Advocacy Center.

Claypoole was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation including 60 days of house arrest and abide by the county probation office’s sexual offender requirements.

In addition, he was found to be a Tier 1 sexual offender under Megan’s Law and is required to report to state police for 15 years.
