Police reports

The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts.

Adams Township

Aug. 12 — Paul A. Wentz, 54 of Colliers, W.Va., was charged with possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and two summary violations for allegedly getting out of his semitractor-trailer and spraying another driver with pepper spray at the intersection of Route 228 and Mars Valencia Road.

Butler Township

Aug. 10 — A vehicle driven by Alexander Sleigher, 22, of Butler, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Robert Solari, 69, of Butler, on Hansen Avenue near Pittsburgh Road. No injuries were reported.

Aug. 8 — Chiara N. Johnson, 20, of Grove City, was charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing 14 items valued at $128 from Walmart.

State police, Butler

Aug. 1 — Gerald A. McNally, 31, of Freeport, was charged with false identification to police, DUI of a controlled substance and four summary violations after he crashed his vehicle into an embankment and identified himself as someone else on Route 38 at Sandy Point Road in Allegheny Township. Police said he admitted to using heroin about 20 minutes before the crash.

June 28 — Edward E. Scott Jr., 44, of West Sunbury, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI related to a June 8 traffic stop on Route 308 in Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Scott was impaired, and a later blood test showed the presence of meth and Suboxone in his system.

June 28 — Michele E. Boofer, 44, of Petrolia, was charged with felony retail theft related to a June 27 incident at Giant Eagle in Center Township. Police said Boofer stole $200 worth of grocery items, and she has four past retail theft convictions.

June 24 — Heather M. Brannen, 38, of Harmony, was charged with four felony counts of aggravated assault and many misdemeanors, including counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, related to a June 24 domestic disturbance on Hufnagel Road in Muddy Creek Township. Police said found Brannen damaging property. Police said during her arrest Brannen spit, kicked and fought with officers, causing a cut to an officer’s arm, and she kicked two EMTs.

State police, Gibsonia

Aug. 7 — Sarah M. Catania, 41, of Valencia, was cited for harassment and following too closely after police said she pointed and waved a large knife at the driver of another vehicle while traveling west at mile marker 15 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in North Sewickley Township in Beaver County after tailgating the same vehicle in an active work zone.
