Thomas Maxwell

Thomas R. Maxwell, 87, of Evans City, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at the Grove in Harmony.

Born in Lower Burrell on March 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Thomas G. and Alma Hill Maxwell.

Tom graduated from New Kensington High School and attended Carnegie Mellon. He was an architectural engineer employed with several engineering companies in Pennsylvania and commercial construction companies in Arizona as project manager and general superintendent. He returned to Pennsylvania and retired from H.P. Starr & Sons and continued as a consultant.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet F. Hicks Maxwell, on Jan. 3, 2024; one brother; and one sister.

He is survived by one son, Scott L. and his wife, Sandra Best Maxwell, of Slippery Rock; two granddaughters, Brigitte Jana and Annaliese Piper Maxwell; two sisters-in-law, Hilda Maxwell and Doris Bauder; and nieces and nephews.

MAXWELL — A memorial service for Thomas R. Maxwell, who died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, and his wife, Janet, who died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, is being planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at Evans City Cemetery, Franklin Road, Evans City.

A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City, was in charge of arrangements.
