Identity released of entrapped driver in Saxonburg Blvd. crash
State police have released the identity of the driver who was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 15 after he crashed his vehicle into a creek at Saxonburg Boulevard near its intersection with Wylie Road.
Mark Hill, 32, of New Kensington, was extricated from his car after crashing it into a creek bed and airlifted with suspected serious injuries, according to police. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
A crash report states that Hill, who was driving south on the 900 block of Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township, was traveling behind traffic and had passed several vehicles in a passing zone.
As he merged back into the southbound lane, Hill “made abrupt movements” and lost control of his car, which went over a hillside and came to a final rest in a creek bed, the report said.
Hill was charged with careless driving.
