Herman Volunteer Fire Company to celebrate 75th anniversary
Herman Volunteer Fire Company is observing its 75th anniversary with a communitywide celebration in Summit Township beginning at 3 p.m. Sept. 7.
The event will take place at the volunteer fire department at 789 Herman Road and is open to the public. It will feature activities for children, including a high-flying bungee, an animal park and an obstacle course, according to the fire department’s website.
The event will feature presentations on drug awareness and by the Pennsylvania State Police, displays of emergency vehicles, a wood carver demonstration, a bomb squad showcase, and search and rescue dog demonstrations.
The entertainment lineup includes a Hawaiian show at 4 p.m., a magic show at 6 p.m. and live music by The Jentz at 6:30 p.m. The event will conclude with fireworks at dusk.
Visitors can enjoy free hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments.
