Daniel “Danny” Castilyn, 75, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024.

He was born in Butler on July 6, 1949, to the late Frank and Aida (McClelland) Castilyn.

Danny graduated from Butler High School and honorably served in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Pullman Standard, Trinity Industries and the Butler Area School District.

Danny enjoyed watching Westerns and game shows. He enjoyed Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Steelers and Penguins, listening to Pink Floyd, loved strawberry treats and was a professional beer drinker.

He was the father of Jason (Melissa) and Justin Castilyn and grandfather of Matthew. Danny is forever loved by Diane Jackson.

Along with his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Paula Ann (Malvarose) Okorn.

CASTILYN — Family and friends of Daniel “Danny” Castilyn, who died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
