High school sports roundup: A-C Valley/Union’s Joe Rapp shoots 36 in KSAC mega match; Butler, Mars tennis win
Clarion boys golf won the third KSAC mega match of the season Thursday at Foxburg Country Club with a 199, besting second-place Cranberry by 17 strokes. A-C Valley/Union finished third with a collective 217, Moniteau came in sixth (233) and Karns City finished ninth with 280.
Clarion’s Karemon Kerle shot the lowest round of the day, a 33. A-C Valley/Union’s Joe Rapp came in second with a 36, and Karns City’s Joey O’Donnell led the Gremlins with a 40. Connor Ealy paced Moniteau with a 45.

Mars is 2-0 to start the season after beating Beaver 3-2. Gracie McCarty and Bella Paz won their singles matches, and Lacey and Gracy Getsy picked up a win in doubles play.
Butler opened section play with a 5-0 sweep of Shaler. Laini Spohn, Sophia Kingsley and Emily Hinch won their singles matches in straight sets. In doubles, the pairs of Maggie Bodamer/Olivia Porneluzi and Cassie Busler/Lindsay Lipp also won in straight sets.
