Purvis

Robert L. Purvis, 66, formerly of Valencia, passed away in Palm Springs, Calif., on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, after a long illness.

Born on Feb. 6, 1958, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Mac E. and Nancy Heckert Purvis.

Bob was a 1976 graduate of Mars Area High School and a 1980 graduate of Allegheny College, where he earned dual degrees in history and economics. He was a former officer of the family business, Purvis Brothers Inc. of Mars, and he worked for Compaq Computers in California. He also had served as a director of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association.

He is survived by his brother, Mac (Karen) E. Purvis Jr.; his stepmother, Marjorie Purvis; stepsister, Bonne (Jeff) Maiatico; nephews, J.D. van Buskirk and Mac E. Purvis III; as well as a number of cousins.

PURVIS — Arrangements for Robert L. Purvis, who died Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, are private under the direction of MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.

The family asks that donations be made in his memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown or the Butler County Humane Society.
